This medical assistance activity has undergone a new "change" compared to conventional free clinics. In order to enable residents in mountains to enjoy high-end medical examination services without leaving their homes, the medical assistance group overcame unfavorable factors such as road conditions, venue, and weather, and drove mobile MRI vehicle into the Dabie Mountains, allowing villagers to undergo various medical screenings at their doorstep. From August 15th to September 11th, the volunteer team completed a total of 587 MRI cases, including:

256 cases of breast screening were completed: 133 cases were positive (including hyperplasia, nodules, cysts, and other pathological changes), with a positive detection rate of 51.95%. According to the BI-RADS classification, there are 4 cases in Class 1 and 31 cases in Class 2; 51 cases in 2-3 categories and 16 cases in 3 categories; There were 7 cases in category 3-4 and 3 cases in category 4.

 

319 cases of stroke/brain screening have been completed: for the population aged 40 and above, the actual proportion is mostly between 50 and 60 years old, with 229 positive cases detected and a positive detection rate of 71.79% (including elderly chronic brain changes, white matter lesions, lacunar infarction, etc.).

 

12 cases of knee joint magnetic resonance imaging were completed, including 10 cases with varying degrees of knee joint degeneration, meniscus injury, joint cavity effusion, etc

For the positive cases detected, Yanzihe Town Central Health Center will cooperate with Jinzhai County Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine to implement classified management and regular health intervention and follow-up, so as to reduce the incidence rate of serious diseases among villagers.

During the activity, volunteers will face-to-face explain health knowledge to the villagers and provide targeted suggestions on reasonable diet, daily routines, and other aspects based on their own actual situation, achieving the goals of "preventing diseases before they become ill", "preventing existing diseases from changing", and "preventing illness after recovery".

Usually, some serious illnesses can only be diagnosed at the county hospital. It's a long distance from the village to the county hospital, which takes three hours by car. Other villagers have also expressed that they will pay more attention to physical health and learn more about health knowledge in the future.

September 5th, Hong Haiou, the director of the Health Management Center of Anhui Provincial Hospital, explained to the villagers how to cultivate good living habits, how to prevent diseases, how to deal with sudden diseases, and other health knowledge, as well as knowledge of health preservation and reasonable diet.

On September 10th, Wang Kai, Director of the Academic Committee of Anhui Medical University and Dean of Anhui Translational Medicine Research Institute, gave a "Stroke Science Popularization Lecture" in Longma Village, providing villagers with detailed knowledge on the nature, causes, identification, and scientific prevention of stroke.

Jinzhai County has a vast territory and mountainous areas. The transportation between towns and villages is not convenient. The residents' diet lead to a high incidence rate of major diseases such as cardio cerebrovascular diseases and tumors.
